Announcements:
For many students the idea of taking a test (especially SOL tests) looms over them like a black cloud. Often just the word test makes them nervous. When your student is scheduled to take a test, try to keep the atmosphere very casual while you study together at home. If they are doing a review and miss a fact, try to come up with a silly way for your child to remember the information. My students have even witnessed me doing a cheer in order to help them spell vocabulary words. Compliment them when they do well, this will build their confidence, which often helps them succeed on tests as well.
Feel free to contact me with questions or concerns.
